NEXUS for Windows
A small installer that downloads the latest version and installs it, no administrator rights needed. From then on, NEXUS updates itself.
—DOWNLOADS
NEXUS is free. Most people only need the first button. The rest is for installing without internet, Android phones that need a different file, and hosting a server on a machine without NEXUS. Every file shows its SHA-256, so you can check it arrived intact.
WINDOWS
Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit).
A small installer that downloads the latest version and installs it, no administrator rights needed. From then on, NEXUS updates itself.
—The same installer with the whole app inside, so it installs with no connection: for a LAN party, a USB stick or a slow connection. It also updates a PC that already has NEXUS.
—NEXUS is new and its files aren’t digitally signed yet, so Windows may warn you the first time (“Windows protected your PC”): choose More info → Run anyway. If your PC has Smart App Control turned on, Windows won’t open it until the signed version is out.
PCs without internet don’t need a file: NEXUS updates them from another PC on the same network.
ANDROID
There’s one APK for each kind of phone processor. If you’re not sure, pick ARM64: almost every phone needs that one.
For almost every Android phone and tablet from recent years.
—For older or low-cost phones with a 32-bit system. Use it if Android says the ARM64 one isn’t compatible.
—For Android emulators on a PC and the few devices with an Intel or AMD processor.
—| If your device is… | Pick |
|---|---|
| A phone or tablet from the last few years | ARM64. If you don’t know, it’s this one. |
| An old or very low-cost phone | ARMv7, if Android says the ARM64 one “isn’t compatible” or “App not installed”. |
| An Android emulator on your PC | x86_64. |
Android 8.0 or later. Android may ask you to allow installing from your browser.
DEDICATED SERVER
Host an always-on server on a machine that doesn’t have NEXUS: a spare PC, a home server or a rented Windows machine. If NEXUS is installed on that PC, you don’t need this: the dedicated server already comes with it.
Unzip it into any folder and open WanNexusDedicatedServer.exe. Linking it to your account lists your server in the Server Browser.
—The same server with no window, run and controlled from a command prompt. Made for machines you manage remotely.
—Coming soon.
CHECK A DOWNLOAD
The SHA-256 is a fingerprint of a file: change a single byte and it changes completely. If the fingerprint of the file you downloaded is the same as the one on this page, it arrived complete and unchanged.
Windows, in PowerShell (change the file name to yours):
Get-FileHash "$env:USERPROFILE\Downloads\NexusSetup.exe" -Algorithm SHA256Windows, in Command Prompt:
certutil -hashfile "%USERPROFILE%\Downloads\NexusSetup.exe" SHA256macOS or Linux, in a terminal:
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/<file>
sha256sum ~/Downloads/<file>Windows shows it in capital letters: it’s the same fingerprint. For an APK, the easiest way is to check it on a PC before copying it to the phone.
Paste the SHA-256 you got and this page tells you which file it belongs to. Nothing is sent anywhere: the check happens in your browser.
